Your Role in the Legacy Mission

As a Resident Assistant - Memory Care, you'll serve as both caregiver and companion, helping residents live meaningful lives filled with respect and compassion. You'll follow personalized care plans, support daily routines, and ensure each resident receives the attention, comfort, and dignity they deserve.

Through your patience and understanding, you'll uphold Legacy's mission to serve seniors with honor, faith, and integrity-celebrating their individuality every step of the way.


What You'll DoResident Care & Support
  • Provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with Legacy's philosophy, policies, and resident rights.

  • Support residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

  • Follow each resident's individualized service plan, and promptly notify the Resident Services Director or Wellness Nurse of any changes in condition.

  • Respond immediately to resident calls and ensure needs are met promptly and respectfully.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

  • Check on residents regularly (every two hours) and document observations accurately.

  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in daily activities, fostering engagement and connection.

  • Escort residents to meals and activities, offering assistance as needed to ensure comfort and enjoyment.

  • Support dining services by assisting with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup, and report any changes in appetite or eating abilities.

  • Help maintain clean, tidy, and comfortable resident rooms and shared spaces.

  • Assist with residents' laundry as needed, ensuring items are handled respectfully and returned promptly.

  • Practice proper body mechanics and follow safety and infection control procedures at all times.

  • Respond to emergencies quickly and according to policy, ensuring resident safety.

Respect, Dignity & Connection
  • Offer residents meaningful choices and encourage independence whenever possible.

  • Protect resident rights, privacy, and confidentiality in every interaction.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with residents and families through compassion and consistency.

  • Maintain a calm, kind presence, especially when supporting residents with memory-related challenges.

Teamwork & Communication
  • Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Communicate resident updates and concerns to supervisors and team members on a "need-to-know" basis.

  • Notify the Wellness Nurse or Resident Services Director immediately if you observe any changes in condition, mood, or behavior.

  • Report on-the-job injuries or safety concerns promptly according to company procedures.

  • Communicate professionally with families, addressing questions or concerns through appropriate channels.
