About This Role

FCCC is seeking Site Managers for multiple locations. The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a school aged child day center. Site Managers ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education licensing regulations while overseeing and managing multiple staff.

What You'll Do

Supervision of Center Staff

  • Model appropriate conduct, teaching style, attire, and language.
  • Supervise and evaluate Assistant Site Managers and Child Care Assistants.
  • Conduct evaluations for subordinate staff members.

Programming

  • The center shall provide an opportunity for children to do homework or projects or hobbies in a suitable area. There shall be an opportunity for large motor activities at least 25% of the time. On non-school days, the daily activity shall include opportunities for large motor activities at least 25% of the time; small motor activities; projects, hobbies, or homework in a suitable place; art or music activities; outdoor activity weather permitting.
  • Participate in lesson planning as directed by the Site Directors.
  • Create a positive relationship with the schools by establishing a collaborative partnership.
  • Create opportunities for community building at the site by sharing activities with parents and involving them in their child’s experience at FCCC.
  • Create an environment that encourages open communication with parents.

Daily Operations

  • Ensure all FCCC policies and licensing requirements are met to include proper oversight of the children, programmatic guidance, children’s files, and staff files.
  • Manage the snack program..
  • Process tuition payments and maintain appropriate records.
  • Process enrollment paperwork as necessary.
  • Maintain daily paperwork necessary to document a child’s attendance, parent conversations and observations.

Requirements

One of the following:

  • An endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation from a college or university and one year of programmatic experience.
  • Have completed Forty-eight semester hours from a college or university of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child-related subjects and one year of programmatic experience.
  • Have two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least one of the following education backgrounds.

a. A one-year early childhood certificate from a college or university that consists of at least 30 semester hours.

b. A child development credential.


Employee must be able to pass background screening.


Computer literacy- including basic working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Must be organized, and have the ability to multitask

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Adaptability, with the capability to make decisions on the fly

Must have patience

Must have leadership and supervisory skills

Prior experience at a licensed childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
