Job description

Program Support Assistant

The Program Support Assistant will perform administrative and technical support of the HT-RPM Program and assist with any future proposals/projects that are implemented. He/she will be under the direct supervision of the Telehealth Nurse Manager. Duties will be varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and assisting with coordination of program patients. He/she will serve as a point of contact for program patients, medical center and VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who may contact the program office. He/she will attain and maintain computer skills (e.g., word processing, CPRS, VISTA, Excel, MS PowerPoint), communication tools such as MS Outlook, SharePoint access to input required Home Telehealth RPM data and will be required to operate web-based software for the program. Incumbent will manage consults per VHA Consult management procedures and schedule veterans accordingly. The incumbent will maintain a calendar of appointments for patients, meetings, conference calls, and other various scheduled activities. The incumbent will assist with coordination of meetings, and record minutes of various meetings pertaining to the program. The incumbent will be responsible for attaining and maintaining basic competencies in operation of the telehealth equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, educating patients in the set up and use of telehealth equipment, answering questions for patients and staff.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
