Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Program Management Lead to oversee projects at a supplier site, specifically focused on global foundries. This role requires a strong background in program management and experience working with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of product development and be adept at handling budgets and cross-functional coordination. This position is open to candidates with advanced manufacturing backgrounds, including semiconductor, aerospace, and data center industries. Proficiency with MS Project or SmartSheet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for technical deliverables on complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs.
- Organize and coordinate efforts across multiple technical and operational teams.
- Conduct regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives.
- Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate schedules or develop needed technologies.
- Travel up to 25% for business purposes.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management.
- Experience in product development and supplier management.
- Proficiency with program management tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.
- Strong understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s degree in a STEM field is a plus.
- background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience managing technology-based projects through the full life cycle.
- Prior experience with first-of-its-kind, early technology-based products or projects.
- Resourcefulness and ability to predict and address challenges proactively.
Work Environment
This role is based in New York, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The position requires 25% travel to locations such as Minneapolis and Broomfield. The work involves a 60% focus on program management and 40% on technical tasks, with a program size involving a multimillion-dollar effort. You will be working primarily with optics, photonics, and hardware, collaborating closely with the fabrication team.
