Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Candidate must be local to the area and able to work onsite. Some telecommuting allowed.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Deputy Program Manager - Engineering (DPME) for the Fire Control Software Working Group (FCSWG) in the Strategic Mission Systems Business you'll lead a highly skilled cross functional team responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and sustainment of Fire Control software variants across all platforms. We will be providing an incremental, innovative software architecture to ensure an updated platform for our Navy customers is reliable, maintainable, and future leaning while maintaining high quality. You'll ensure the Strategic Weapon System, which includes Navigation, Missile (Guidance, Reentry, etc.), Fire Control, Launcher, Instrumentation, and all other subsystems meets all new requirements, building off the current architecture to build and field the system through operational test and deployment.

  • Systems Engineer with a heavy Software Engineering background or Software Engineer with Systems Engineering experience
  • Relevant Computer Science or Software Development background or experience
  • Experience with a diverse customer community, organizational teaming, and relationship building
  • Experience leading teams of 20-25 engineers through large scale system design and implementation
  • Managing engineering resources (e.g. staff assignments, capital equipment, etc.), program management organizational interfaces, and engineering scope
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certified or equitable project management experience
  • Able to work in an Agile framework
