As the Commercial Team Manager, you will lead a team of 25-30 commercial insurance processors, associates and advisors. You are a local community leader, motivating and coaching your team to create a best-in-class experience for clients and driving the business forward with strategic planning and disciplined execution. Through your leadership, relationship building and collaboration, the goals, purpose and vision for the branch are brought into focus and executed.

A day in the life -

Business Development:

  • Execute an annual business plan to maximize opportunity for organic growth and partner with the Vice President of Sales to drive sales initiatives for new business, retention and sales across different lines of business.

  • Inspire your team to excellence to deliver a memorable client experience.

  • Actively participate in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization.

  • Represent the HUB brand and culture outside of the office and outside of office hours while in the community and facilitating or participating in community events and projects.

Talent Management:

  • Ensure high employee engagement through recruiting, talent management, development, and career planning.This includes one-on-ones, team meetings, career conversations and career mapping, performance conversations, and performance improvement plans.

  • Commitment to continued learning & development.

  • Manage vacant seat coverage and lead recruiting efforts for open roles.

  • Ensure a complete training path for new hires, including assigning mentors and side-by-side buddies.

  • Provide a positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates talent.

  • Support the team of talent to achieve their highest performance potential.Driving productivity and accountability across the team and between regional teams.

  • Identify and develop future leadership talent (Supervisors, Leads, Managers).

Operational:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the branch including corporate branding and profit & loss statements.

  • Manage weekly reporting on Accounts Receivable (AR), Not Yet Renewed, Unbilled, IMAC concerns, and all other service standard reports.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and escalate issues where needed.

  • Partner with cross-regional Commercial Lines Team Managers and the Commercial Training team to improve communication processes, onboarding, training, and continuing education programs across CL teams.

  • Assist with annual licensing and continuing education requirements for all staff, including account executives.

  • Manage organizational change implementation plans by preparing your team and being informed to support a smooth transition phase.

QualificationsRequired

  • Level 2 General Insurance License required.

  • Minimum 5 years insurance brokerage experience, preferably at least 3 years in commercial lines with exposure to client experience, policy coverage, claims advocacy and marketing negotiations.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading a team.

  • Strong MS Suite knowledge: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Bookings, PowerPoint.

  • Industry designation and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset (CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM).

Salary Expectations -

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.
