Job Description
Summary

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Program Manager to support a large scale Department of the Army IT Service Delivery contract. The DPM will partner with the Program Manager to oversee contract execution, ensure high quality service delivery, and maintain operational excellence in a complex, fast paced defense IT environment. This role is essential to sustaining mission readiness, continuity of operations, and the successful delivery of enterprise IT services supporting thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations
  • Support the Program Manager in daily leadership of a multi-disciplinary IT service delivery team across multiple disciplines.
  • Oversee contract performance, staffing, resource allocation, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Lead internal and customer meetings, briefings, and communications.
  • Serve as acting Program Manager when required.
Stakeholder Engagement
  •  Serve as a primary liaison with the Prime Contractor, government stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ensure clear communication, alignment with mission objectives, and responsiveness to evolving requirements.
Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve program goals and support regional growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Performance & Quality Management
  • Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Monitor program metrics, prepare reports, and support data driven decision making.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all deliverables.
Resource & Financial Management
  • Support resource planning, scheduling, and tasking of technical and functional specialists.
  • Ensure efficient use of personnel and budget resources.
  • Assist with budget development, tracking, and financial performance oversight.
Risk & Compliance
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and security requirements, including cybersecurity policies and standards.
Education and Background
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Management, or related field.
  • PMP or PgMP certification required; ITIL certification preferred.
Years of experience
3+ years of program leadership experience.
Required Skills

Working Conditions
  • Primarily remote with required local presence and frequent site visits.
