Northrop Grumman Defense System is looking for an Operations Program Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Advanced Weapons (AW) business unit. This leadership role is located in Northridge, CA.

The Operations Program Manager 3 will be responsible for directing activities of the Operations Program organization. These activities are related to missile production. In this role, the selected candidate will also be the Operations Program focal point for all production and development programs, which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Operation Program Managers, supporting production schedules and production requirements.
  • Responsibilities include cost, schedule, and technical performance of a specific unit or work package on a large system development-type contract or broad responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a delivery order or small technical services-type contract.

  • Functions as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.

  • Routinely meet with production and engineering Leadership, to build strong relationships, and advise and discuss program strategies and execution plans.

  • Determine and develop staffing profiles and schedules to meet program requirements.

  • Establish and harvest team values and culture with focus on employee engagement, diversity, a first-time quality.

  • Lead various internal company and external customer audits to assure process compliance and requirements satisfaction

  • Oversees projects and task assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees. Becomes involved only when required to assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems. May accomplish results through lower-level supervisor or exempt employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in leadership and project management
  • Experience with Cost Point or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DoW Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business management
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement
  • Manufacturing or Engineering experience
  • Experience with bases of estimates, shop order creation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • STEM Degree
  • Current Special Program Access
  • Program capture execution from EMD through FRP
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change
  • Experienced in dynamic environments where there may be schedule changes, design changes and validation failures

Primary Level Salary Range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
