Job Title: Senior Technology Vendor Manager (Program Manager III)
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and results-driven Senior Technology Vendor Manager to lead and optimize our enterprise technology vendor ecosystem. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, bridging business strategy, IT leadership, and external vendor relationships to ensure our technology investments deliver maximum value, cost-efficiency, and alignment with multi-year capital and operating plans.
This is a high-impact individual contributor and leadership role for a professional who thrives on operational excellence and vendor governance. You will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Finance, and Sourcing teams to define vendor requirements, manage full-lifecycle relationships, establish rigorous KPIs/SLAs, and develop innovative commercial models that drive financial savings. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vendor Management & Governance
• Relationship Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic technology vendor relationships, including onboarding, governance, periodic performance reviews, and contract compliance.
• Tier-1/Tier-2 Optimization: Establish and enhance strategic supplier relationships; engage regularly with supplier leadership to review performance, track roadmaps, and align business needs.
• Performance Accountability: Drive operational excellence and accountability by establishing quantitative analysis and reporting on supplier performance using robust KPIs and SLAs.
• Innovation & R&D: Identify disruptive technologies, discover pilot/POC opportunities, and partner with internal IT stakeholders to rationalize the existing technology footprint.
Commercial Strategy & Financial Management
• Cost Optimization & Sourcing: Collaborate closely with the Sourcing department to develop negotiation strategies, optimize costs, and secure favorable contract terms and commercial models.
• Financial Forecasting: Manage vendor-driven spend forecasts segmented into Capital (CapEx) and Operating (OpEx) expenditures; present forecasts clearly to Finance and IT leadership.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Conduct TCO analyses, evaluating direct and indirect costs to inform strategic decision-making and maximize financial efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
• Enterprise Alignment: Partner with Operations, Architecture, Finance, and IT Leadership to ensure vendor-driven solutions integrate seamlessly with multi-year investment plans.
• Executive Communication: Deliver executive-ready reporting and strategic insights that empower senior leadership to make data-driven decisions.
• Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify operational challenges, risks, and opportunities within the vendor portfolio to protect business outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 8+ years of progressive professional experience in IT vendor management, strategic sourcing, or technology strategy.
• Technical & Strategic Mastery:
oDeep expertise in managing and optimizing complex, Tier-1 supplier relationships and restructuring contracts to enhance enterprise value.
oStrong financial acumen, including business case development, cost optimization, and multi-year CapEx/OpEx spend forecasting.
oComprehensive knowledge of IT contracts, vendor governance, and technology lifecycle management.
• Core Competencies: Excellent communication, presentation, and influence skills with the ability to engage confidently at both executive and operational levels; strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Attributes
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supplier Management (CPSM), Certified Technology Procurement Professional (CTPP), or ITIL.
• Experience managing vendors within large, multi-year investment planning cycles in complex enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with enterprise procurement, ERP, or vendor management platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow, GEP).
• Working knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and risk management considerations in IT vendor contracts.
