Senior Program Management Specialist

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Management Specialist to join the Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems team in Albuquerque, NM.

The selected candidate will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team supporting the development of high-performance electro-optical/infrared (EOIR) sensing systems and laser directed energy weapon systems for a variety of domains (ground, air and space). This position is responsible for overall program execution (technical, cost, and schedule) and new business capture with a broad range of government customers.

Boeing Laser & Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) develops cutting edge Directed Energy Weapons Systems for the US Department of Defense as well as state of the art Electro-optical sensors and processing for various customers including NASA, DHS and other organizations operating worldwide. LEOS has established itself as the Electro-Optical Center of Excellence within the Boeing Company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of the program architecture and top level plans for a program

  • Develops program organizational, work structures, top level program and execution plans

  • Identifies key program level horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners and customers

  • Facilitates the resolution of program issues

  • Supports the program manager in leading program execution by coordinating program metrics

  • Integrates the implementation of the Program Management Best Practices

  • Implements customer and program communication and contact plans

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 10+ years' experience in engineering project planning or project management

  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance

  • Experience with EVM and CAM supporting Boeing DoD contracts

  • Experience with system integration (hardware, firmware, software)

  • Experience in Electro-optical and Directed Energy programs

  • Experience working with suppliers

  • Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives
