Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP)

Location: Arizona (Remote – Must be Licensed in Arizona)

A growing behavioral health organization is seeking a Program Director to oversee operations and program management for a Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP) serving patients throughout Arizona.

This leadership role requires a fully licensed behavioral health clinician in Arizona who can combine clinical knowledge with strong operational leadership. The Program Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, ensuring services are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care, compliance, and program performance.

The Program Director will work closely with the Clinical Director and executive leadership team to ensure the program operates smoothly while continuing to expand access to quality mental health treatment through a fully virtual model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program
  • Coordinate closely with the Clinical Director and clinical team to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Manage program scheduling, census, and patient flow across virtual groups and services
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona state regulations, clinical standards, and payer requirements
  • Monitor program performance, utilization, and patient engagement metrics
  • Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of clinical and support staff as needed
  • Collaborate with admissions, outreach, and marketing teams to support program growth and patient access
  • Maintain oversight of clinical documentation standards and operational workflows
  • Implement process improvements that enhance program efficiency and patient outcomes


Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in behavioral health treatment settings
  • Prior leadership or program management experience in behavioral health
  • Experience working within IOP, PHP, outpatient behavioral health, or structured treatment programs
  • Strong understanding of telehealth service delivery and virtual treatment environments
  • Knowledge of behavioral health compliance, documentation standards, and payer requirements
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills


Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in Virtual IOP (VIOP) or telehealth-based treatment programs
  • Background in mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorder treatment
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams
