Make an Impact Where It Matters Most as a Program Medical Director - Hospitalist Medicine in Clovis, California

At Sound Physicians, our purpose is to provide better care, better collaboration, and a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. We are seeking a physician leader to serve as a Co-Medical Director for our hospital medicine program at Clovis Community Medical Center. This is an opportunity to practice clinically while leading a high-performing team.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with the Co-Medical Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for a team of 30 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers.
  • Collaborate with hospital executives, physician leaders, and service line partners to advance organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the hospital medicine program.
  • Drive efforts focused on quality improvement, patient experience, operational excellence, and physician engagement.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture among physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Support the recruitment, retention, development, and engagement of hospital medicine providers.
  • Champion best practices, clinical excellence, and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Prior hospital medicine leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build relationships, and drive quality outcomes.
  • Must live within the Community
  • H1B visa sponsorship available with dedicated in-house visa, licensing, and credentialing support.

Scheduling:

  • Collaborating with your Co-Medical Director, you will work between 5 and 8 clinical shifts per month, with a minimum commitment of 5 shifts.
  • Administrative time is spent at the hospital Monday-Friday.
  • This is a Full-Time Position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Co-Medical Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital medicine program.
  • Work alongside hospital executives and service line leaders to drive organizational initiatives and achieve hospital goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional development, and clinical excellence.
  • Lead performance improvement efforts focused on length of stay, readmissions, patient safety, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the hospital medicine program on committees and interdisciplinary leadership teams.
  • Maintain an active clinical role caring for hospitalized patients.
  • Closed ICU environment.
  • Procedures are not required.
  • Utilize Epic EMR.
