Position Specific Description
The IT Senior Manager - Enterprise Trading Transformation & Program Delivery is responsible for driving the execution of NextEra Energy's enterprise Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) transformation program. This role provides strategic leadership, governance, financial oversight, vendor management, and delivery execution for one of the company's most critical business and technology initiatives.
The position will lead a large-scale, multi-year transformation spanning trading, risk management, scheduling, settlements, commercial operations, finance, and enterprise technology organizations. The role will partner closely with business executives, trading leadership, architecture, cybersecurity, operations, finance, and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery of program objectives while effectively managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and organizational change.
The ideal candidate brings deep program leadership experience, strong vendor and systems integrator management capabilities, and a proven track record delivering complex enterprise transformation initiatives. Experience within energy markets, commodity trading, utilities, or ETRM platforms is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Program Leadership
  • Lead the execution and delivery of enterprise transformation programs.
  • Establish and manage end-to-end program governance, delivery strategy, execution plans, milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Drive alignment across Trading, Risk Management, Commercial Operations, Settlements, Finance, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and executive leadership teams.
  • Manage complex interdependencies across business workstreams, technology teams, vendors, implementation partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery of program objectives aligned to strategic business outcomes, operational readiness, and enterprise priorities.

Enterprise Transformation & Delivery
  • Lead the implementation and transformation of enterprise trading capabilities supporting power, renewable, commodity, and energy market operations.
  • Drive delivery of capabilities supporting trading, risk management, scheduling, settlements, market operations, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure successful integration across enterprise platforms, data environments, operational processes, and business functions.
  • Support organizational readiness, adoption, and business value realization throughout the transformation.

Financial, Scope & Vendor Management
  • Oversee program budgets, forecasts, resource planning, procurement activities, and financial governance.
  • Establish disciplined controls for scope management, change management, issue resolution, and dependency management.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, systems integrators, consulting partners, and third-party delivery organizations.
  • Hold vendors accountable for contractual commitments, delivery performance, quality standards, and business outcomes.
  • Identify program risks, financial variances, resource constraints, and mitigation strategies.

Executive Communication & Governance
  • Provide regular executive-level updates to senior leadership, steering committees, and governance forums.
  • Lead program reviews, decision-making sessions, and executive stakeholder engagements.
  • Present strategic recommendations, delivery status, risk assessments, financial updates, and key decisions to leadership teams.
  • Build strong partnerships across business and technology organizations to drive alignment, accountability, and execution.
  • Influence decision-making across competing priorities and complex organizational structures.

Ideal Experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale enterprise technology and business transformation programs
  • Proven success managing complex multi-year programs
  • Experience in program governance, executive reporting, financial management, risk management, and strategic planning
  • Experience managing systems integrators and third-party delivery organizations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams within highly matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment across enterprise organizations.

Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

• Provides leadership, influence, vision, roadmap, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals
• Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy
• Oversees the value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs
• Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
• Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments
• Oversees the development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)
• Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs
• Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives
• Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
