Job description

The Salvation Army Midland Division Corps located in Jefferson City, Missouri, is looking for a Food Program Coordinator. This individual is responsible for setting and achieving goals that assist the corps in building capacity and achieving financial sustainability, thus, making it possible for The Salvation Army to increase encounters with Christ and expand the impact of programs and services throughout the Jefferson City service area.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a starting pay of $24.50 per hour.
Essential Functions
  • Oversee the procurement and inventory of in-kind donations.
  • Complete reporting for in kind donations
  • Manage the corps food pantry, Salvation Army daily food market, holiday meal program and other programs as requested.
  • Oversee intake for food programs.
  • Ensure daily pickups for food donations are made
  • Assist with the cooling and warming center as needed.
  • Actively recruit, orient and manage volunteers to support food programs.
  • Work with Corps Officer(s) achieve goals of the corps strategic plan.
  • Assist with Christmas Food Pantry
  • Assist with Christmas Kettles and Angel Tree Operations
  • Implement strategies that build awareness of the corps as an active and vital member of the Jefferson City Community
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with program coordination experience. Combination of training and experience will be considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a working knowledge of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail. Must be a team player, self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Ability to efficiently and effectively manage several projects at one time. Ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, especially during the Christmas Campaign. Able to work additional hours as needed (i.e. during the Christmas campaign.) Must pass TSA MVR check, have a valid driver's license, and have reliable transportation.
Physical and Working Conditions
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include: using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential duties).
