Job description

Location:
Eastwood Academy

Schedule:
6 Saturdays: January 31; February 7, 21, 28; March 21 & 28
Time Commitment: 4 hours each Saturday
Compensation:
$27-$30 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
Eastwood Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging SAT Tutor to provide targeted instruction for students preparing for the April SAT administration. The ideal candidate is confident with SAT content, understands test strategies, and can adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured, SAT-focused instruction covering Math, Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing (as applicable)
  • Teach effective test-taking strategies and time management skills
  • Identify student strengths and areas for improvement
  • Provide clear explanations and guided practice using SAT-style questions
  • Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of tutoring or teaching experience at the secondary (middle or high school) level
  • Demonstrated experience with SAT or standardized test preparation strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to engage students and explain complex concepts clearly
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with current SAT format and scoring
  • Experience working with small groups
  • Passion for student success and academic growth
