Location: We have locations in Providence, RI, Pawtucket, RI and Central Falls, RI
Reports To: Nutrition Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time- Pay is $16.62/hr

Childrenโ€™s Friend is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented WIC Program Assistant to be the welcoming face and helpful hand for families navigating the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. This is more than just a jobโ€”itโ€™s an opportunity to create a lasting impact.

???? What Youโ€™ll Do:

As a WIC Program Assistant, youโ€™ll play a vital role in helping families access essential nutrition services and community resources. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Screening applicants for eligibility
  • Providing program information and secondary nutrition education
  • Performing basic health assessments like height, weight, and hemoglobin checks
  • Connecting families with vital services such as housing, food banks, and healthcare
  • Supporting WIC participants both in-person and over the phone
  • Keeping our records and systems accurate and up to date
???? What You Bring:
  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Bilingual Skills in Spanish required.

  • At least one year of administrative support experience

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficiency with computer systems and data entry

  • Experience in a medical or social services setting (preferred)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required); additional languages a plus!

  • A heart for helping others and a passion for community health
