High School Assistant Cheer Coach

Part-Time/Stipend, Category 7

Personal Behavior:

- Embrace the responsibility of representing our Lord Jesus Christ, Oaks Christian School, and our athletic department at the highest level of integrity and in Christian values.

- Assist with leading a Christ-centered program.

- Cultivate trust, respect, and belonging throughout the entire program.

- Ensure all student-athletes throughout the program receive instruction and guidance that will lead to positive values, acceptable behavior, and self-discipline with a Christian emphasis.

Program Management:

- Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, training, and strategies necessary to achieve success.

- Assist with the development of leaders within the program.

- Assist with structuring daily and weekly routines for members within the program.

- Maintain good public relations with the faculty, staff, and parents.

- Maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment.

- Collaborate with the Head of Athletics and Head Cheer Coach to schedule competitions and plan seasonal activities including practices, team events, competitions, and ceremonies.

- Collaborate with the Athletic Training Staff regarding student-athlete clearances and required documentation.

- Collaborate with Sports Performance Staff regarding strength and conditioning plans for student-athletes throughout the year.

- Coordinate transportation needs and travel arrangements to "AWAY" events with the Athletic Department, which includes travel rosters/forms, early release times, departure times, and arrival times. Supervise student-athletes for all "AWAY" events.

- Maintain compliance with all CIF and league guidelines.

- Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.


Required Certifications

- First Aid-CPR-AED

- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Concussion In Sports, NFHS Heat Illness Prevention, and NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

- NFHS and USA Cheer & Dance Safety Certification

- Van Transportation Driving Certification
