Job description

Total Turf Maintenance is a locally owned company specializing in high-quality lawn care for both residential and commercial clients. The Licensed Lawn Applicator role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about turf health and take pride in delivering exceptional results. This position offers the opportunity to work independently, manage a dedicated route, and make a visible impact on the appearance and health of clients’ properties. Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled lawn applications for residential and commercial properties
  • Operate and maintain Z-Spray application equipment
  • Apply granular and liquid fertilizers, pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides, and other turf products
  • Spot spray weeds and avoid unnecessary treatment of entire properties
  • Identify common turf weeds and recognize potential turf problems such as disease, drought stress, insect activity, and nutrient deficiencies
  • Properly mix, measure, and apply products according to label requirements
  • Calibrate application equipment and maintain accurate application rates
  • Monitor weather and site conditions before making applications
  • Maintain required pesticide application records and complete daily documentation
  • Communicate customer or property concerns to management promptly
  • Keep application equipment, tanks, and storage areas clean and organized
  • Maintain proper inventory of fertilizer, herbicides, and application materials
  • Follow all pesticide labels, PPE requirements, and company safety procedures
  • Communicate professionally with customers when questions arise
Qualifications
  • Current applicable Minnesota pesticide applicator license
  • Experience in lawn or turf application preferred
  • Experience operating Z-Spray or similar ride-on spreader/sprayer strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of fertilizers, herbicides, and turf-care practices
  • Ability to identify common turf weeds and lawn problems
  • Ability to accurately measure, mix, and calibrate products
  • Strong attention to detail and record keeping
  • Ability to manage an application route efficiently
  • Good customer communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to safely lift and handle fertilizer bags and application materials
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
