A leading global alternative asset manager seeks Vice President, Relationship Manager of the Japan Focus Team in New York to cover institutional investors in Japan.<\/span>  <\/span><\/span>The RM will be responsible for sales of the firm's various asset classes, including credit (direct lending, liquid and structured credit), private equity, infrastructure and real estate.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>

  • Primary responsibilities include:
    <\/span><\/span>       <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Cultivate and manage business relationships with the investor community and intermediaries. Focus on new business generation activities to increase penetration across channels.
    <\/span><\/span>       <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Actively participates in sales planning and helps drive marketing strategy execution.<\/span>  <\/span><\/span>Research and define competitive market requirements and opportunities, develop and execute on strategic plans for his\/her target market.
    <\/span><\/span>       <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Builds and maintains long term rewarding relationships with existing clients.
    <\/span><\/span>       <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Works with Product Management and Investor Relations team to generate customized materials for investors.
    <\/span><\/span>       <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Keeps abreast of industry trends and Ares product development and performance to provide market information updates and trend analysis to clients and colleagues.

    • BA Finance or Business Degree preferred<\/span>
      <\/li>\n
    • Language: Fluency in Japanese and English
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Network of professional contacts in the institutional investment community and a track record of navigating in the various institutional channels.<\/span>  <\/span><\/span>Experience covering asset managers and trust banks preferred.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • 5\-7 years of marketing \/ sales experience preferably with buy side shops \- ideally with exposure to various alternative asset classes including, private equity, infrastructure and real estate.<\/span>

    • Previous role in sales for Asset Management Firm \/ Alternative Investments preferable.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>
