Job description

As the Senior Marketing & Professional Relations Manager for the Italy & Iberia Cluster, you will lead the design and execution of the professional relations agenda across Spain, Portugal and Italy, while also taking ownership of selected cluster marketing projects that support business priorities. Professional Relations will account for most of the role, with additional responsibility for driving cross-functional marketing initiatives in alignment with cluster, EMEA and global strategies. This role requires a strategic, highly collaborative leader with a strong record of building trusted partnerships with key opinion leaders, speakers, faculty, institutions, universities and internal cross-functional stakeholders. 
You will act as a senior thought partner to the Marketing Director and work closely with Clinical, Marketing, Sales, Business Intelligence, Professional Education and EMEA Marketing central teams to develop high-impact programs that strengthen Align Technology's leadership in digital orthodontics and dentistry. The role combines professional relations strategy, scientific marketing, stakeholder engagement, commercial alignment, education support, broader marketing project leadership and data-driven program optimization. 
This role will report directly to the Marketing Director Italy & Iberia. 
Lead cluster professional relations strategy: Define and implement the Professional Relations strategy for Italy and Iberia, ensuring alignment with cluster AOP priorities, EMEA guidance and global business objectives. 
  • Build and strengthen KOL, speaker and faculty networks: Identify, develop and maintain high-value relationships with KOLs, speakers, faculty, academic institutions and professional organizations, positioning Align Technology as the partner of choice for clinical education, scientific collaboration and innovation. 
  • Drive scientific marketing and evidence amplification: Partner with Clinical, EMEA marketing central team and subject matter experts to shape scientific marketing initiatives, clinical evidence creation and dissemination plans tailored to local market needs. 
  • Support university and institutional engagement: Collaborate with Clinical and Marketing teams to develop strategies for universities and academic institutions, supporting the next generation of dental professionals and accelerating adoption of digital orthodontic treatment modalities. 
  • Integrate professional relations with commercial priorities: Work closely with Marketing, Sales and Clinical teams to ensure Professional Relations programs support business growth, customer engagement, loyalty and education objectives across the cluster. 
  • Own selected cluster marketing projects: Lead specific marketing initiatives beyond Professional Relations, such as customer engagement programs, campaign localization, product or portfolio activation, congress amplification, customer segmentation initiatives, educational campaign support and cross-cluster go-to-market projects, as agreed with the Marketing Director. 
  • Support marketing planning and execution: Contribute to the development and execution of cluster marketing plans by coordinating workstreams, aligning stakeholders, tracking milestones and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs across Italy and Iberia. 
  • Represent the voice of partners and customers: Capture insights from KOLs, speakers, institutions and customers to inform local marketing plans, product feedback, education needs, partner experience improvements, campaign priorities and future innovation opportunities. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution: Lead collaboration across local and regional Marketing, Clinical, Sales, Finance, Business Intelligence, Professional Education and EMEA central Marketing teams to ensure integrated planning and execution. 
  • Use insights and analytics to optimize impact: Partner with BI teams to develop consistent reporting, ROI analysis and performance dashboards for Professional Relations and selected marketing activities, translating insights into strategic recommendations. 
  • Manage complex partner issues: Serve as a senior escalation point for sensitive partner situations, ensuring timely resolution, strong partner loyalty and high-quality stakeholder experience. 
  • Support planning and governance: Coordinate and participate in local and central handoffs for commercial planning milestones, quarterly reviews and relevant governance forums. 
  • Represent Align externally: Attend and support educational events, congresses, advisory boards, speaker programs, institutional meetings and selected customer visits across Italy and Iberia. 
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic marketing, professional relations, business development, clinical education, stakeholder engagement or marketing project leadership within the medical device, dental, healthcare or related sectors. 
  • Proven experience building and managing senior-level partnerships with KOLs, speakers, faculty, academic institutions and professional organizations. 
  • Strong understanding of professional relations, scientific marketing, clinical education and/or healthcare stakeholder engagement models. 
  • Experience managing marketing projects end-to-end, including planning, stakeholder alignment, execution tracking, campaign localization, performance measurement and post-implementation optimization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple countries or in a cluster, regional or matrix organization. 
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans and measurable impact. 
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with confidence speaking in front of senior stakeholders and large audiences. 
  • Ability to influence without authority and lead cross-functional teams across Marketing, Clinical, Sales, Finance, BI, Professional Education and regional functions. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Dentistry, Marketing, Business, Life Sciences or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. 
  • Fluency in English & Spanish is required.
  • Italian knowledge are highly desirable; Portuguese is a plus. 
Preferred qualifications 
  • Master's degree, MBA or advanced qualification in dentistry, marketing, business or healthcare management. 
  • Experience working with EMEA teams and adapting regional or global strategies to local market realities. 
  • Experience using performance dashboards, ROI analysis and market insights to guide investment decisions. 
  • Previous field sales or customer-facing experience in medical, dental or healthcare environments.

Work pattern and travel 
  • Office-based in Madrid, five days per week. 
  • Travel required across Italy and Iberia for partner engagement, educational events, congresses, institutional meetings and selected customer visits.
