Counseling Practicum Student Intern Job Description:
Mission Statement:
The Grace Church Supervised Counseling Practicum Program exists to provide graduate counseling students with high-quality clinical training in a Christ-centered ministry environment while extending compassionate, supervised care to individuals connected with Grace Church. The program supports Grace's existing care ministries through temporary educational placements under licensed clinical supervision and is not intended to function as a permanent professional counseling practice.
Guidelines:

  • Report to the Care & REACH team lead, Shelley Long
  • Operate under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor.
  • Never practice independently.
  • Never represent herself as a licensed counselor.
  • Provide counseling only within the scope approved by CCU and her supervisor.
  • Receive referrals through Grace's existing care ministries.
  • Responsible for safeguarding client Files. (Potential: Traveling locked case as possible solution)

Clinical Supervision:
Clinical supervision is required and must be provided by an approved, licensed professional.
Internship Status:
This position is an unpaid internship intended to support academic learning, professional development, and the completion of applicable educational requirements. The internship is contingent upon University site approval, completion of the required supervision agreement, and confirmation of the student's start date.
This position will require hours to be completed at both Grace Church of Arvada and Forge Christian High School.
