Professional Inside Sales information

What is a professional inside sales?

Professional Inside Sales refers to sales professionals who work primarily from within an office or remotely, rather than traveling to meet clients in person. Their main responsibilities include contacting potential customers, building relationships, presenting products or services, and closing sales over the phone, email, or online meetings. Inside sales representatives often use customer relationship management (CRM) software to track leads, manage sales pipelines, and meet sales targets. This role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional inside sales?

To thrive as a Professional Inside Sales representative, you need strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills, often supported by a degree in business or related fields. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, sales automation tools, and basic data analysis is typically required. Outstanding inside sales professionals also demonstrate resilience, active listening, and a drive to exceed targets. These capabilities are crucial for building client relationships, closing deals efficiently, and achieving sales goals in a competitive environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professional inside sales, and how can they be overcome?

Professional Inside Sales representatives often face challenges such as managing a high volume of outbound calls, overcoming objections from potential clients, and maintaining motivation in a fast-paced environment. To overcome these obstacles, it's important to develop strong communication and active listening skills, utilize customer relationship management (CRM) tools effectively, and collaborate closely with the marketing and support teams to ensure leads are nurtured properly. Regular training and feedback, as well as setting clear, achievable goals, can also help inside sales professionals stay engaged and successful in their roles.

Job description

Inside Sales Representative

Do you have a positive attitude? Are you a people-person? Do you enjoy sales? This Inside Sales Rep (ISR) opportunity is for you! You will have the chance to become the face of the store and the person customers rely on when they stop in. Friendly customer service is key. Our customers can buy a 2x4 anywhere they come to us because of the customer service.

Our Story Carter Lumber was founded in 1932 by W.E. Carter. For 90 years, we have strengthened our company by staying true to our values, which include honesty, hard work, and putting people first. What started as a single lumberyard in Akron, Ohio, is represented today by seven brands servicing professional builders and homeowners across thirteen states with more than 160 locations. Despite our growth, we are still a family-owned company. Our core values and our people-first culture remain the same.

Description When a customer walks in the store, you will be there to assist them. You will share product information, give advice on their project needs, produce estimates for packages/projects and process transactions. You will also follow up on online customer quotes, cold call to qualify new leads, support the Outside Sales Reps as needed, and assist in inventory control by conducting cycle counts and resolving overages/shortages. Each ISR completes training to learn our products, our POS System, and how to fill out paperwork. Salary + commission! Our commission is structured so that there is no limit to your compensation.
