Executive Chef

Full Time

**Salary: $72,000-$80,000/year**

Executive Chef Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience, preferably in multi-outlet operations (restaurant, cafe, catering).
  • Proven expertise in menu creation, event execution, and cost control.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with a focus on engagement and retention.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Food safety certification required (ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Prefer: Culinary degree or equivalent experience.

What you'll do as an Executive Chef:

  • Direct day-to-day culinary operations of the cafe, restaurant, and catering kitchens.
  • Lead menu and recipe planning and development, including seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure consistency, creativity, and excellence in food presentation and quality.
  • Oversee planning and execution of all catered events, from menu design to service.
  • Partner with FOH management to coordinate logistics and ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate culinary staff to build a skilled, motivated team.
  • Develop staff through regular coaching and cross-training opportunities.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional kitchen culture.
  • Create and manage kitchen staff schedules to balance business needs and labor efficiency.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for cafe, restaurant, and catering operations.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, and monthly inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Monitor food costs, portion control, and waste management to meet budget goals.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure quality products at competitive pricing.
  • Enforce compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor food safety programs (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent).
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and security of food and equipment.
  • Work closely with FOH management to align service flow and guest experience.
  • Partner with leadership team to develop strategic initiatives, special promotions, and new business opportunities.
  • Participate in management meetings to align operations with organizational goals.
  • Must be available days, nights, and weekends. This position is not remote.
