Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing and advancing the institution’s continuing education, professional development courses, customized workforce training, and community engagement initiatives. This position ensures the development and delivery of high-quality programs that meet the evolving educational and professional needs of the community while supporting institutional goals and partnerships.

Job Duties

Workforce Training: • Meet with Industry and community representatives to assess training needs and identify new program opportunities. •Design, develop, and implement customized training programs based on identified needs. •Recruit, hire, and supervise qualified instructors and trainers. •Coordinate program scheduling, promotion, and marketing to individuals, businesses, and community partners. •Develop cost structure for training to earn a profit and raise revenue. Manage and monitor departmental budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility. •Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and organizations to foster collaboration and program relevance. •Identify, develop, and submit proposals for governmental and organizational training contracts (RFPs). •Collaborate with the Grants Department to pursue funding opportunities. •Assist Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) students with training approval processes and funding applications. •Maintain Workforce Training website.

Placement: •Provide career development support for students and alumni, including job search strategies and résumé assistance. •Maintain Placement website. •Meet with classes to present job search strategies. •Establish and maintain employer relationships to identify job openings and facilitate employment, internship, apprenticeship, and job shadowing opportunities. •Plan, coordinate, and execute job fairs and on-campus recruiting events to connect students with potential employers.

Anderson County Higher Education Site Director: • Collaborate with Roane State Community College (RSCC) staff and faculty to address building maintenance and operational issues in coordination with TCAT Knoxville staff and faculty. For example, emergency drills, facility closures, accommodating special guests and visitors, etc. •Plan and oversee student activities and events, including Campus Activities Board programming. •Manage and organize student support initiatives, including food pantry operations and related resource distribution. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with three years of experience in the field of workforce development.
Must have the initiative to be a self-starter and the ability to travel across the college's service area.
Must be able to work a variety of hours to attend events.

Previous experience in the field of workforce development.
