The Manager, Brand & Communications, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day integrated delivery of Clark Builders' proposal development, brand, marketing, and communications services. This role provides leadership, coordination, and oversight across a shared-services team, translating team priorities into consistent execution in support of strategic pursuits, brand visibility, internal and external communications, and broader business priorities across the organization.

This position plays a key role in managing workflow, resourcing, quality, and deliverables across the team, while collaborating with Project Development, Operations, and other internal stakeholders. The Manager, Brand & Communications, also helps drive continuous improvement in processes, quality, and team effectiveness, while contributing directly to key deliverables when needed.

This position reflects Clark Builders' commitment to a more integrated, agile, and strategic Brand & Engagement function that supports business growth, disciplined pursuit work, and stronger enterprise-wide storytelling and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of proposal, marketing, and communications services across the team, ensuring work is aligned to established priorities, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Manage team workflow, priorities, and resourcing across Proposal Specialists and Marketing & Communications team members, balancing capacity and deliverables across regions, pursuits, and business needs.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to direct reports and help foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for strategic proposals, presentations, and related pursuit materials in collaboration with Project Development and pursuit teams, including guidance on pursuit strategy, compliance, win themes, story development, and interview/presentation readiness.
  • Support the planning and execution of marketing and communications initiatives and campaigns that strengthen brand visibility, reputation, and engagement.
  • Guide content development and storytelling across internal and external channels, including proposals, presentations, awards, website content, newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, compliance, and brand alignment across team outputs and deliverables, with strong review practices and clear standards for submissions and communications.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across regions and office locations to support business priorities, communication needs, and strategic opportunities.
  • Help improve team processes, tools, templates, and ways of working to support efficiency and stronger outcomes.
  • Contribute directly to key pursuits, communications, or initiatives where leadership, coordination, or hands-on support is needed.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Journalism, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in proposals, marketing, communications, and business development.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, architectural, professional services, or another business-to-business environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and coordinating work across multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience supporting or leading complex proposals, presentations, and strategic communications initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud; experience with proposal/content management systems, CRM platforms such as Salesforce, website management tools such as HubSpot, and digital marketing platforms are assets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teams and leaders across the organization, including across regions and office locations.
