Job description

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Assembly and Calibration Teams. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position ensures production schedules are executed efficiently while meeting customer commitments for on-time delivery, turnaround time, quality, productivity, and safety. The Production Manager must effectively balance production schedules, resource allocation, and changing customer priorities while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Production Planning, Inside Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to ensure alignment, proactive communication, and execution against business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the daily operations of the Assembly and Calibration Teams, ensuring customer commitments are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner closely with Production Planning to align manufacturing schedules and calibration activities with customer demand.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to communicate delivery commitments and operational or parts constraints.
  • Drive transparency and communication regarding schedule risks, material shortages, and customer-impacting events through clear messaging to stakeholders impacted by extended delays.
  • Monitor workflow, labor utilization, capacity, and output across all operational functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality systems, calibration standards, manufacturing procedures, and service processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements across Production Operations.
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve manufacturing performance, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience managing manufacturing, operations, or experience in a technical production environment.
  • Demonstrated success balancing competing operational priorities involving production schedules, customer service requirements, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
  • Strong ERP/MRP system experience; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP/MRP systems, with the ability to leverage data for analysis and decision-making.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence multiple organizational levels.
  • Makes data-driven decisions that optimize customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
