As we continue to rapidly grow, the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily production floor activities to ensure efficient workflow, on-time production, and delivery of high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role oversees production personnel and supports the execution of production schedules and operational priorities established by the planning and operations teams.

This position works closely with the Planner/Buyer to support production readiness by coordinating work order flow, material cutting and kitting, and maintaining efficient movement of jobs through the manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor also serves as a primary backup for the shipping department when needed, supporting packaging, shipment preparation, and shipping coordination for sensitive customer products.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational and communication skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to maintain production efficiency while supporting cross-functional operational objectives.

This full-time, exempt role will be located in Salem, NH and will report to the Director of Operations.

  • Ideal candidates will be able to work a modified schedule of: 10:00a7:00p (with occasional Saturdays).
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily production floor operations to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Provide daytoday oversight, direction, and support to production personnel while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Execute production priorities and schedules as directed by Operations leadership and the Planner/Buyer.
  • Support production planning activities by releasing, organizing, and managing work orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate material cutting, kitting, and work order preparation to support production readiness and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor production flow and communicate any scheduling, material, or operational concerns that may impact delivery timelines.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system transactions, production documentation, and inventory movements.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, planning, and shipping teams to support operational goals and resolve production issues.
  • Assist with inventory organization, material handling, and cycle count activities as needed.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the shipping department, including packaging, shipment preparation, and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, quality standards, and operational policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow efficiency, organization, and operational performance.
  • Assist with employee training and reinforcement of manufacturing procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong leadership and ability to supervise production floor personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of production workflow, work orders and shop floor operations
  • Strong communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills
  • Ability to coordinate material flow, kitting and production readiness activities.
  • Ability to maintain quality awareness and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relay updates and progress to leadership.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision while supporting team objectives.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production supervision, or operations support roles.
  • Previous experience supervising production personnel in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and managing production work orders.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced production environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Experience in photonics, optoelectronics, semiconductor, microelectronics, or other hightech manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Shipping, inventory control, and material handling experience is a plus.

  • Travel approx. 10%
