Job description

INJECTION MOLD TECHNICIAN
Light Industrial / Manufacturing | $28.00 – $35.00 / Hour DOE |
Fri – Sat – Sun | 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM | 36 hrs worked / 40 hrs paid
Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4pm

ABOUT THE ROLE

BESTAFF is seeking an experienced Injection Mold Technician — not an operator — for a direct placement opportunity with a precision manufacturing company. This hands-on role goes beyond running machines. You'll own mold changeovers, machine setup, processing, and troubleshooting across a variety of resins including Pebax and Polycarbonate. If you know injection molding from the ground up and can work confidently with 3 and 6-axis robotics, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Perform mold changeovers and color changeovers on schedule — this is a core function of the role.
  2. Set up, start, and operate 3-axis and 6-axis robots efficiently and safely.
  3. Process and troubleshoot injection molding machines, molds, and robots as issues arise.
  4. Ensure scheduled machines produce quality parts at standard BOM cycles with minimal scrap and waste.
  5. Promote safety awareness, housekeeping, and a well-organized work area at all times.
  6. Communicate proactively with maintenance, leads, and the department manager on breakdowns and repairs.
  7. Maintain reliable attendance — the weekend crew depends on you.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  1. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in injection mold setup, processing, and troubleshooting — operator-only experience does not meet this requirement.
  2. Demonstrated ability to perform mold changeovers independently.
  3. Working knowledge of Pebax, Polycarbonate, and other resins.
  4. Experience with or strong aptitude for 3 and 6-axis robotics.
  5. Mechanical troubleshooting skills — you can diagnose and communicate what a machine is doing and why.
  6. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  7. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  8. Team-oriented and dependable — you show up and do the work.
