SUMMARY:
The Plastic Injection Molding Supervisor Technician works in a team environment to coordinate the processing of materials and manufacturing of products. This individual directs production team members in an effort to develop an effective and efficient work force. This individual also sets and processes injection molds in molding machines according to scheduling priorities. This role is a vital component in the company's goals of scrap reduction, on-time deliveries, high quality products and machine efficiencies.
$26.00-$32.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organizes and allocates team members based on production demands.
  • Coordinates and oversees training of team members.
  • Ensures conformity to production requirements including the utilization of their authority to stop production to correct quality problems when needed.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work place in compliance with all Vandor regulations including applicable local, state and federal laws. Ensures that all team members are working safely.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Ensures that team members under his/her supervision comply with the company employment guidelines as stated in the team member handbook.
  • Directs team members to adhere to policies, procedures, work instructions and record keeping.
  • Communicates and coordinates the need for production team members with the human resources team.
  • Ensures all materials are maintained for production. Changes material when applicable.
  • Troubleshoots processes to ensure quality standards are met during production of molded parts.
  • Maintains awareness of their impact on product quality and the importance of their activities in achieving, maintaining and improving quality according to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, as applicable.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned that may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervises production Team Members.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Two to four years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Two years of injection molding experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Requires a high school diploma / GED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Has the ability to read, comprehend and write the English language as it relates to safety, job responsibilities, and other essential communication.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.

REASONING ABILITY:
  • Possesses strong reasoning skills, including the ability to analyze problems and identify, implement and rationalize solutions.

  • Must be able to lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds consistently, with heavier weight necessary at times.

  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift schedule.
  • Works within a fast-paced manufacturing environment that is not temperature regulated.
  • The environment may be loud requiring hearing protection in some areas.
  • Personal protective equipment is required as defined within the hazard analysis sheet defined for this position.
