Job description

Job Title: Injection Molding Process TechnicianJob Description

The Injection Molding Process Technician sets up, starts, and optimizes injection molding machines to support high-quality, efficient production runs. This role focuses on developing and adjusting process parameters, resolving molding and equipment issues, and ensuring that each mold changeover and machine setup meets production specifications. The technician works closely with operators, providing technical support and training to maintain consistent performance and product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and start injection molding machines for scheduled production runs.
  • Develop, adjust, and optimize injection molding process parameters to improve product quality, cycle times, and overall efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, machine malfunctions, and process variations to quickly identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform mold changeovers, including safely removing and installing molds, and verify proper machine setup before production begins.
  • Monitor production performance and make real-time process adjustments to maintain stable operations and meet production specifications.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on molds and related equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Support production operators by resolving technical issues and providing process-related training and guidance.
  • Review and interpret process sheets, technical drawings, and production specifications to ensure accurate setup and operation.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Work with robotics and auxiliary equipment associated with injection molding processes to ensure proper integration and operation.

Work Environment

Available shifts include 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., both offering a shift premium. Overtime is voluntary, providing flexibility in scheduling. The workplace emphasizes safety, with PPE reimbursement and free company uniforms forming part of the standard attire and protective gear expectations.
