Job description

Day Shift Production Line Worker

Silva is seeking a Production Line Worker to process and package dehydrated vegetables and fruits, set up production lines, monitor quality, maintain sanitation, and package finished goods. Candidates will need to uphold food and plant safety practices and procedures. The candidate fulfilling this position will have a standard schedule to work four 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm) and one 6-hour shift each week, including weekends.

Basic Functions:

  • Complete tasks as directed by the room lead and supervisor.
  • Erecting corrugated cartons and totes.
  • Inserting poly bags into cartons and totes.
  • Dumping raw materials into production line hopper / blender.
  • Lifting and stacking.
  • Weighting and sealing cartons, bags and totes.
  • Production line set-up and disassembly.
  • Production line cleaning and sanitizing.
  • General production area cleaning.
  • Starting, stopping and monitoring production line equipment.
  • Moving palletized goods with hand pallet jacks.
  • Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Plant Safety rules.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned which may not be reoccurring

Qualifications:

  • Exhibits a positive attitude.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment, paying close attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 55 lbs. as single-person lift
  • Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.)
  • Bending and stooping.
  • Extended periods of being on your feet.
  • Standard manufacturing environment

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position (base pay rate = $18.25/hour) with benefits package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k retirement plan with employer match, employee assistance program, employer gift-matching program, wellness program, and company-paid holidays. Performance reviews provide opportunity for performance-based compensation increases. Additional compensation in the form of overtime pay and an increase in hourly rate once production certification is earned, as well as the potential for a quarterly bonus to eligible individuals. This position is located in Momence, IL 60954.
