The Houston branch of Openwork ahs partnered with a manufacturing company to add a Production Line Supervisor to their team. This is a direct hire opportunity. Our client values candidates with goals, reliability and manufacturing supervisory experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to consistently achieve production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
  • Build and maintain a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear expectations while holding team members accountable for performance standards.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while maintaining exceptional product quality.
  • Monitor production metrics throughout the day and immediately address obstacles impacting throughput.
  • Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer Service to ensure seamless operations.
  • Drive daily production
  • Troubleshoot production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures.
  • Partner with maintenance to resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and
    hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed on schedule.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades that improve productivity and reliability.
  • Monitor equipment performance using production data and operator feedback.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop production employees.
  • Build a highly engaged manufacturing team focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide meaningful coaching.
  • Identify future leaders and support succession planning.
  • Promote cross-training and workforce flexibility.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.

What We're Looking For:
  • Five or more years of progressive manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience leading production teams in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs.
  • Proven ability to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Manufacturing leadership within HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, industrial equipment, or machinery manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC-controlled fabrication equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen experience.
  • Welding, fabrication, or assembly experience.
  • ERP/MRP manufacturing system experience.
  • Forklift certification.
