Location: Luzianne Tea Manufacturing Plant at 5601 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70126
1st Shift Hours: Tuesday-Friday 4:30am-3:00pm
Job Description: The Line Operator is responsible for safely operating tea and/or coffee production packaging equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate production equipment efficiently according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and food/employee safety requirements and guidelines to meet daily labor and waste goals as planned and driven by management
  • Utilize Digital Production System (Redzone) to track downtime, perform quality compliance documents and communicate with support functions
  • Complete change overs for their assigned equipment and/or production line
  • Learn and maintain customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality
  • Read and follow instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
  • Accurately completes all quality, traceability, and production paperwork
  • Report any product deficiencies, food, or safety concerns to supervisor
  • Perform minor equipment adjustments to ensure equipment is operating optimally
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and assists others with product change overs
  • Support and comply with GMP's; understand and follow emergency action plan
  • Ensure the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of machine operating/production experience preferred
  • Technical skills include the ability to start and stop equipment, complete a changeover, and operate one piece of equipment
  • Interpersonal skills include good verbal and written communication, good time management skills and the ability to follow rules and directions
  • Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player and self-leadership
