Since 1974, I amp;M has been a locally owned, family-operated company providing custom metal fabrication, precision machining, and industrial finishing services. For more than 50 years, our success has been built on quality workmanship, dependable service, and employees who take pride in what they do.
Our facility offers a diverse range of manufacturing capabilities, including sheet and tube laser cutting, CNC machining, forming, welding, powder coating, and more. This gives our Estimating team the opportunity to work with a wide variety of parts, projects, customers, and manufacturing processes.

About the Position
As a Production Estimator, you will play an important role in turning customer opportunities into successful manufacturing projects.
You'll review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine materials, labor, processing, and production needs. You'll also work closely with customers and our engineering, purchasing, sales, and production teams to develop competitive and accurate quotes.
We're looking for someone who understands manufacturing, enjoys working with numbers and technical drawings, and can balance accuracy with the need to provide customers with timely quotes.
What You'll Do
  • Review customer RFQs, blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Develop accurate estimates for material, labor, machining, fabrication, outside processing, and other production costs
  • Prepare and submit professional customer quotations
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing processes and production requirements
  • Provide pricing and estimated lead times
  • Communicate with customers to clarify specifications and project requirements
  • Identify opportunities for cost-effective manufacturing solutions
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure accurate estimates
  • Maintain organized estimating records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with proposals and follow up on quoted opportunities
  • Help improve estimating and quoting processes
  • Perform other related duties as needed
What We're Looking For
  • At least 1 year of estimating experience preferred
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or job shop experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production methods
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple quotes, priorities, and deadlines
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems
Even Better If You Have:
  • 2+ years of estimating experience in a fabrication, machining, or job shop environment
  • Knowledge of steel products, materials, and fabrication processes
  • Experience estimating weldments, machined components, laser-cut parts, formed parts, or fabricated assemblies
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or manufacturing software
