Department: Production
Job Title: Production Engineer

Place of Job in Organizational Structure: Engineer reporting to Manager

Overview:

Achieves daily production goals for an 8-hour shift following a Mon-Fri schedule in an automated manufacturing environment with some exposure to noise, heat, dust, fumes, and other common hazards. Utilizes data regarding OEE of line machinery related to planned stops and short stops in order to improve operator performance when responding to these issues. Identifies key bottlenecks and pushes improvement projects in the areas of training improvement, process optimization, and tool and jig use in order to ensure daily output and defect count targets are achieved.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the safety of all team members and ensure that manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations.
  • Monitor OEE of key line machinery (Stringer, Glass Loader, POE/EVA, etc.) and identify bottlenecks related to planned stops and short stops.
  • Evaluate SOP related to planned stops (Material Loading, machine 5S). Initiate improvement projects related to downtime reduction and operator skill improvement.
  • Evaluate SOP related to short stops (Machine alarms, material issues). Initiate improvement projects related to downtime reduction and operator skill improvement.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing improvement project results.
  • Ensure department readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Additional related duties may be assigned based on business requirements.


Key Requirements and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an engineering role required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in a high-volume automated assembly line environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong safety mindset and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with MES and QMS systems preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English is strongly preferred.
