Dometic Land Vehicles Americas is a trusted provider of high-end products for recreational vehicles, commercial passenger vehicles and overlanding vehicles in North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Accountant within our Finance team. This position reports to Business Unit Controller and will work in Elkhart, Indiana.
About the position
As an Accountant in the Finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and overall performance of the business. Serving as a trusted partner to finance and operational leaders, you will lead financial reporting, cost accounting, forecasting, and close activities while delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance profitability, efficiency, and business results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Your main responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Management
  • Lead plant-level financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including the general ledger.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close activities.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial results, variances, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare special financial analyses and reports for management as requested.
  • Ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy in financial reporting.

Cost Accounting & Operational Finance
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing processes.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
  • Partner with operations leadership to drive productivity and profitability initiatives.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and annual FA inventory
  • Provide proactive financial guidance to support decision-making and improve plant performance.

Accounting & Compliance
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, IFRS, and internal control requirements.
  • Review and oversee employee expense and corporate credit card reporting.
  • Support international accounts payable processing as required.

Business Partnership & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational and financial objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reporting efficiency, process optimization, and cost management.

Perform ad-hoc duties as required

A suitable background would be in accounting and manufacturing finance, with a strong foundation in financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis. Experience partnering with operations teams to drive profitability, process improvements, and informed decision-making in a manufacturing environment would be highly valued - as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or manufacturing finance experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly required.
  • PLEX ERP experience preferred.
  • Experience with financial close processes, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Power BI experience preferred
