Job description

Illumination is currently seeking a Production Accountant to join our team in Santa Monica. This position will support the day-to-day operational accounting functions for Illumination's animated feature films. This role is a dynamic and exciting position at the intersection of our Santa Monica office and Illumination Studios Paris production teams.
Responsibilities
  • Process cast and crew payroll, accounts payable and all payments related to production
  • Execute weekly accounts payable for production and studio teams such as, but not limited to: paying invoices, setting up vendors, initiating, and finalizing all paperwork
  • Prepare cash flow forecasting, funding requests, and funding reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring that correct account codes are utilized, and transactions are accurately explained and supported
  • Highly organized and comfortable performing timely and precise processing of paperwork, records, and file maintenance.
  • Aid in Production Audits throughout the life of the production
  • Provide monthly cost reporting support to production team located in Paris, France.
  • Support residual/guild reporting to production partners post film completion.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field or equivalent is preferred
  • 2-5 years of related production accounting experience required
  • Highly detail oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Handles confidential information with a high degree of discretion and good judgment
  • IATSE Local 839 and Local 700 Experience is a plus.
  • Experience with industry specific accounting programs such as Smart Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel required

The base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and an offer will consider various factors including experience, qualifications, skills, and training.
