The Tester is responsible for testing electronic components of Nacelle before final assembly occurs.

Shift:Monday - Thursday from 5PM - 3:30AM

Responsibilities:
  • Testing safely is the #1 priority as there are high hydraulic pressures and high voltages in test
  • Control and test an assembled or pre-assembled product in production and complete quality control to ensure no failures pass through to the next level and/or supplier
  • Verify adherence to Vestas quality and testing standards before allowing product to take to next operation
  • Perform assembly / process work in operation as needed
  • Problem-solving by trying to diagnose test failure issues
  • Point of contact within operation for process/product engineering changes
  • Ensure NCR reports are made
  • Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications and company's quality control system
  • QDA entry; stamp mark of approval or rejection with QDA on product and write report
  • Provide customer service by responding to requests for service and by listening and obtaining clarification when needed
  • Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly
  • Other duties as assigned
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical license and 4 years' hands-on experience OR documented electrical education (i.e. Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Trade school certificate of graduation, Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering) and 4 years' hands-on experience Note: experience must be with industrial or commercial electrical equipment including maintenance and troubleshooting 3 phase systems and controls.
  • Annual refresher courses in electrical and hydraulic safety training
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures

Physical Demands

  • Standing/Sitting: Requires full time standing with limited resting periods and to walk distances. May sit for extended periods if required.
  • Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools and ladders.
  • Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required, including overhead work. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.
  • Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to use inspection tools and perform torqueing operations.
  • Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for position.
