RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a Product Owner for an onsite, direct hire opportunity in Topeka, KS.
Summary:
Reporting to the Product Manager, this role will serve as a critical bridge between the client's trading, quant, operations, and technology teams - translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and driving the delivery of high-impact product features. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Product Manager to support the vision and roadmap of the derivatives platform and related systems
* Partner with trading, quant, operations, and technology teams to analyze business and financial data, extract key insights, and translate them into well-defined user stories and actionable requirements that align with both user needs and technical implementation
* Define and maintain a prioritized product backlog that balances business value, technical effort, and cross-team dependencies
* Work with the product engineering team to define hypotheses, run experiments, and analyze data to inform feature decisions that influence the direction of the product
* Transform business requirements into features and action items for software engineering teams
* Assist in validating the engineering team's deliverables against product requirements and acceptance criteria prior to release to business teams
* Identify and manage product dependencies and downstream impacts across the business unit to ensure successful feature delivery
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all computations and feature changes, serving as a reference manual for users and stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5 years of experience in a technology, project management, or product management role, with demonstrated hands-on ownership and a genuine interest in product development
* Familiarity with technology tools such as Snowflake, relational databases, and SQL for data extraction, analysis, and validation
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and make sound decisions under pressure
* Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple product initiatives simultaneously with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
