What is a Technical Product Owner?

A Technical Product Owner is a professional who serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams in technology-driven projects. They define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure the technical team delivers value aligned with business goals. Unlike a traditional Product Owner, a Technical Product Owner possesses deeper technical knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions about architecture, integrations, and feasibility. They collaborate closely with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to refine the product backlog and maximize product impact.

You’ll also work closely with developers to address technical questions, resolve blockers, and align on technical feasibility, while regularly updating business stakeholders on progress and gathering feedback. This collaborative approach helps ensure that both business objectives and technical constraints are balanced throughout the product lifecycle.

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills help you bridge the gap between technical teams and business objectives.
