As a product merchandiser, your responsibilities include visiting stores or working in a retail outlet, collecting and analyzing visual data, conducting customer surveys, and determining how a location can improve its sales. From your analysis, you can develop new schematics or a plan-o-gram which is a chart of a retail shelf which helps the store owner better improve sales through changing the way they display products or utilize space to increase customer engagement.
