Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the battery industry, customers, and available market data to help create actionable insights to assist in ensuring mutual growth and optimized financial performance for our customers and for Stryten Energy. A key support role that helps position Stryten as a strategic partner to our customer base, the Product Manager is responsible for connecting the dots between various data sources to create data-driven insights. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, assortment strategy development, pricing and assortment recommendations, financial modeling, and real-time business reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead for the business segment, taking Marketing leadership of new product innovation while supporting our current and evolving product lineup with strategic tools to grow the business
  • Develop and support the strategic plan for these segments and coordinate with the Director of Marketing for the business unit to create a business unit plan
  • Act as the main liaison between our Sales team (customer-focused) and engineering/quality/manufacturing to ensure the development of winning products or services. Have the ability to articulate technical details into applicable sales-savvy materials
  • Manage Product Plan / Service Plan for the segment and be responsible for new additions to meet needs or to capitalize on opportunities identified
  • Responsible for milestone passage of products & services and successful launches under challenging timelines
  • Portfolio management to include SKU additions and lifecycle monitoring for phase out
  • Develop insights based on research and create opportunities for product development
  • Identify opportunities for pricing adjustments to achieve results and collaborate with the internal Pricing Department, mindful of horizontal and vertical alignmentIdentify trends in the market and competitors impacting the segment
  • Be the subject matter expert for your channels of business, recommending actions to improve business results to achieve quarterly and annual targets. This includes advertising, sales training, customer training, promotions, and campaigns
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders through persuasive oral and written communications, including sales presentations, strategic planning, PMO, and commercial routines
  • Perform line reviews for key customers or internal groups
  • Prepares a regular competitive review for each product along with the annual Strategic Plan
  • Provides technical support and materials to the sales department and channel partners
  • Provides sales support by attending conventions, trade shows/meetings, and seminars, or making sales calls at the discretion of Sales management
  • Develop a marketing communication bulletin for applicable product lines
  • Convey understanding of market conditions and trends impacting the company's growth
  • Stay abreast of worldwide business developments
  • Respond to the unique needs of individual customer contacts
  • Seek feedback from customers to identify improvement opportunities
  • Special projects as assigned by the Manager
Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • College degree, MBA preferred, or at least 5 years of experience working in marketing and/or sales
  • 3 years in Marketing / Product Management, technical marketing skills a plus
  • Material Handling Industry or Energy Storage background preferred
  • Experience in creating business cases and executing product development plans that have resulted in profitable growth
  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership

  • Team-oriented leader capable of leading others in a collaborative manner
  • Draw accurate conclusions from financial and quantitative information
  • Summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision-making
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on high-impact projects and duties

  • Be capable of understanding technically complex systems and products, and translating them into easily understood business terms
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft suite of products

Travel, other requirements:
