Job description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Product Manager for our District Integrations team, which has a vital role in helping schools and districts successfully use IXL in their digital learning ecosystems. In this role, you will help shape the vision and oversee execution of integrations that connect IXL to customer platforms like Learning Management Systems (LMS), data warehouses, rostering solutions and more. Your work will help ensure that IXL fits seamlessly into classrooms across the country, including many of the biggest school districts in the US. #LI-TB1

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Product Manager for District Integrations, you will help connect customer needs with technical development while working cross functionally. A critical part of this position involves engaging directly with customers. You'll attend key sales calls and strategic customer meetings to understand education leaders' needs and challenges, collect feedback and identify opportunities. You'll translate those insights into clear product ideas and enhancements that shape the future of our integrations roadmap. You'll also partner closely with engineering to define and build high-impact, elegant solutions, and you'll engage with internal teams to ensure they understand how our integrations meet the needs of educators and administrators. Those teams can include sales, account management, customer support, and more.

This position requires you to be in our San Mateo, CA, headquarters office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Develop a keen understanding of evolving district needs through participation in key sales and customer meetings, cutting through the noise to hone in on critical needs
  • Identify and articulate solutions that marry IXL product vision and key district needs
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and company leaders to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for district integrations
  • Think through detailed product requirements and maintain clear documentation; collaborating with engineers, designers, and other PMs as appropriate
  • Partner with your engineering lead(s) to maximize the success of your dedicated team in your product area; this critical partnership includes everything from managing projects and sprints, third-party vendor management and troubleshooting, evaluating development resource allocation, internal communications and training, and more
  • Effectively communicate priorities and status to a wider business audience, provide suggested customer messaging, escalate concerns, and closely monitor post-launch success and progress
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field
  • 5+ years of product experience, with proven success delivering highly technical product offerings from conception through launch and beyond; experience with B2B SaaS integrations strongly preferred
  • Exceptionally strong listener, strong relationship-builder (both internally and externally), strong leadership and clear communication
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to provide high quality, efficient, creative solutions to complex technical problems
  • Ability to think critically, operate with incomplete information, and explain your decisions clearly
  • Highly motivated with a resourceful, "figure-it-out" approach
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams that include engineering, sales, customer support, marketing, design, curriculum, and product and company leadership
  • Familiarity with edtech is a plus
