What is a product manager integrations?

Product Manager Integrations are professionals responsible for overseeing the development, launch, and optimization of integration features and partnerships within a product. They work closely with engineering, sales, and external partners to ensure that the product can seamlessly connect with third-party platforms, APIs, or services. Their role involves identifying integration opportunities, defining requirements, managing timelines, and ensuring a smooth user experience across connected systems. These product managers play a critical role in expanding a product’s ecosystem, increasing its value and usability for customers.

How does a product manager integrations typically collaborate with engineering and external partners during integration projects?

As a Product Manager Integrations, you will frequently work cross-functionally with engineering teams to define integration requirements, prioritize development tasks, and ensure timely delivery. You’ll also engage directly with external partners and customers to understand their integration needs, clarify technical details, and coordinate joint efforts. Effective communication and alignment are key, as you act as a bridge between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and project goals are met.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a product manager integrations, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Product Manager Integrations, you need a solid understanding of software development, API design, and integration strategies, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with integration platforms like MuleSoft, Postman, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence, as well as certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), are often required. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills help you coordinate cross-functional teams and align technical solutions with business goals. These capabilities are vital for delivering seamless integrations that enhance product value and ensure customer satisfaction.

Job description

Description:

Who we are

We are a profitable healthcare technology company on a mission to transform post-acute care through clinical intelligence, deep datasets, and connected technology. Our platform empowers providers & payors to collaborate to deliver exceptional outcomes, streamline care coordination, and enhance patient experience.

We are on a mission to reimagine how post-acute care is delivered — and we’re looking for passionate people who share our commitment to improving lives beyond the hospital. Our Anna™ platform is the clinical intelligence layer for post-acute care — the period after a patient leaves the hospital, when handoffs fail, information gets lost, and vulnerable people fall through the cracks. Care managers and clinicians use Anna to focus on the patients who need attention right now.

What makes PAA distinctive isn't the funding or the growth curve — it's how we work. Autonomy and ownership are non-negotiable: AI amplifies expertise, it doesn't replace it. User trust is infrastructure, not a metric. Architecture is product strategy, not engineering's problem.

What you will do

PAA is scaling from a handful of national-scale payer and provider relationships to a pipeline of many more over the next several years, and the surface area where that scale either happens or breaks is integrations. Every new customer brings its own systems, workflows, and technical realities. Anna's insights need to flow through APIs into EHRs, into partner platforms, into the workflows where clinical decisions actually happen, and each new integration has the potential to be a one-off implementation or a durable, productized capability the whole company can leverage.

We are seeking a highly collaborative Integrations Product Manager to own that difference. You'll join an experienced Product team and drive the strategy and execution of PAA's integration capabilities with customers and partners. You’ll sit at the intersection of Engineering, Client/Implementation teams, and external partner technical teams, translating real-world workflow and data exchange needs into clear product requirements that result in reliable, scalable integrations. Your charter is to assess the business value and go after new integration opportunities, get payer and partner stakeholders aligned on a common goal and roadmap, and then productize what Engineering builds so we can adopt at scale for the growing customer base.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, confident in a room of senior external stakeholders, and instinctively thinks about how one-off wins become repeatable playbooks. Engineering will own the technical solutioning at PAA and will teach you the stack, your value comes from the business framing, stakeholder alignment, and productization work that makes integrations scale.

Core Responsibilities

Own the integration product surface area

  • Define and evolve the product vision, roadmap, and outcomes for PAA’s integration platform and customer/partner integrations.
  • Assess business value and prioritize integration work based on customer impact, revenue/retention potential, implementation scale, reliability risk, and engineering effort.
  • Establish and track success metrics (e.g., time-to-integrate, integration reliability/SLA adherence, error rates, throughput/latency, support burden, adoption).
  • Partner with Client/Implementation teams and customers/partners to deeply understand integration requirements, constraints, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
  • Productize what Engineering builds: turn one-off integration components into templates, playbooks, reference architectures, and documentation so the next customers can rinse-and-repeat at scale.
  • Partner with Operations and Client Success to ensure new payer clients and post-acute care partners can adopt integrations without reinventing the wheel each time.
  • Write clear epics, user stories, and technical requirements that enable Engineering to deliver with minimal ambiguity (data mapping, edge cases, error handling, security, observability, and support workflows).
  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog for the Integrations Engineering Scrum team.
  • Lead/enable sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint review readiness (ensuring stories are “ready,” dependencies are surfaced, and scope is coherent).
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies (Product, DevOps, InfoSec, Data/Analytics, QA, Implementation, Support).
  • Drive feedback loops from production: analyze incidents, integration failures, customer escalations, and operational pain points; prioritize systemic fixes over repeated one-offs.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions and minimize long-term maintenance cost.

Requirements:

Requirements

4+ years of product management experience (technical product, platform product, or integration-heavy product experience strongly preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience shipping products with meaningful technical depth (APIs, data platforms, workflow automation, integration middleware, or developer-facing capabilities).
  • Track record of productizing and scaling technical capabilities, you've taken a one-off customer solution and turned it into a repeatable, reusable product component.
  • Confidence with senior external stakeholders: you've held your own with payer CIOs and CMOs, health-system executives, and partner VPs, and built alignment with all parties in the room.
  • Healthcare technology experience preferred: you've worked with clinical data flows, payer authorization files, ADT feeds, and HIPAA-governed environments.
  • Enough technical fluency to be a great product partner: you can read technical artifacts such as API docs/specs, data schemas, mapping files, logs, and dashboards, and know when to push back on complexity that isn't earning its keep.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards is valuable: HL7 v2, FHIR, X12/EDI, SFTP-based file exchange.
  • Familiarity with automation approaches (e.g., RPA) is a plus.
  • Comfort using data to make decisions: basic SQL skills and/or experience

What sets you apart

  • "You understand that integration reliability directly affects clinical users: when data doesn't flow, nurses don't see patients, authorizations get lost"
  • “You're a business-value-first thinker who leans on Engineering for technical depth, not the other way around.”
  • “You think about the 20th deployment, not just the first, you build for scale from the start.”
  • “You're energized by turning one-off wins into repeatable playbooks that make the whole company more productive.”

What you’ll get

  • Competitive compensation & bonus plan commensurate with experience
  • 401K
  • Health, dental & disability insurance
  • 10 paid holidays
  • Robust time off policy

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We believe that diverse perspectives make us better product builders and better advocates for the patients we serve. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, lived experiences, and identities.
