Job description

Job Description:About Us

Dow Jones is a global provider of news and business information, delivering content to consumers and organizations around the world across multiple formats, including print, digital, mobile and live events.

Dow Jones has produced unrivaled quality content for more than 130 years and today has one of the world's largest news-gathering operations globally. It is home to leading publications and products including the flagship The Wall Street Journal, America's largest newspaper by paid circulation; Barron's, MarketWatch, Mansion Global, Financial News, Investor's Business Daily, Factiva, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, OPIS and Chemical Market Analytics. Dow Jones is a division of News Corp (Nasdaq: NWS, NWSA; ASX: NWS, NWSLV).

About the Role

Subscriber acquisition is one of the most consequential product areas at Dow Jones: the engine that drives new paying subscribers and registered users into The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch, and beyond. As Product Manager II on the Commerce team, you will own the acquisition experimentation program end to end: the roadmap of A/B tests across paywalls and shop pages that directly moves conversion to order across a multi-brand portfolio reaching millions of readers.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will manage the full lifecycle of your experiments and initiatives, from hypothesis and test design through analysis and rollout, and act as the team's subject matter expert on acquisition experimentation. You will run the recurring experimentation forum, coordinating a large cross-functional stakeholder group, and set the standard for how the acquisition team designs, analyzes, and learns from tests. Reporting into the Commerce product leadership, you will work closely with marketing, engineering, design, data science, and subscription strategy.

This is also a pivotal moment for product management as a discipline. AI tools are changing how product teams research, write, analyze, and collaborate, and we are actively reinventing how we work. This role is an opportunity to help lead that shift: modeling new ways of working, raising the bar for what a small, focused team can deliver, and pushing the people around you to think differently about how they spend their time and energy.

You Will
  • Own the acquisition A/B testing program: build and prioritize the test roadmap across paywalls and shop pages, design experiments, and drive measurable improvements in conversion to order across WSJ, Barron's, and MarketWatch.
  • Act as the acquisition experimentation subject matter expert, setting the standard for test design, statistical rigor, and how the team reads and acts on results.
  • Run the recurring experimentation forum, coordinating a large cross-functional stakeholder group and keeping test velocity and quality high.
  • Independently manage the full lifecycle of your initiatives, from hypothesis and guardrail metrics through analysis, rollout decision, and documented learnings.
  • Take a quick brief and run with it: scope the opportunity, pull and analyze the data, build the case, and drive the work to a decision with limited oversight.
  • Partner closely with marketing, engineering, design, data science, and subscription strategy to ship work and translate results into the next round of tests.
  • Share results and the metrics you moved clearly and proactively with the wider team and stakeholders.

You Have
  • 4+ years of product management experience, with a focus on subscription acquisition, direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, or growth/experimentation products.
  • Strong experimentation and analytical skills: designing and running A/B tests, funnel analysis, and translating results into clear, defensible decisions. Familiarity with Bayesian methods is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately-to-large complex initiatives, owning the full lifecycle with limited supervision.
  • A track record of using data to find opportunities: diving into product and competitive data, building the analysis, and turning it into a testable hypothesis.
  • Proven ability to use AI tools to improve the quality and velocity of your work. Hands-on experience with tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and Glean is a plus. Demos of AI-assisted or vibe-coded work are welcome.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to seamlessly see the completion of tasks from start to finish
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to run a cross-functional forum and keep a large stakeholder group aligned.
  • A solid understanding of acquisition funnel metrics: conversion rate, registration rate, order volume, cost per acquisition, and lifetime value.
  • Knowledge of digital media and subscription businesses; experience with platforms such StatSig, Piano or Braze is a plus.
