Team Overview
BlackRock SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax, values-alignment, or investment exposures across direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients, from wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations.
About the role
We are seeking Product Manager to lead the design and delivery of trading and portfolio management workflows for SMA Solutions business. This role will partner closely with portfolio managers, traders, engineering, and operations to define user journeys, streamline trade lifecycle processes, and ensure scalable execution across asset classes.
Responsibilities
  • Gain understanding of current state end-to-end PM and trading workflows for SMA Solutions business that spans across multiple asset class/geographic locations/client segments.
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders to understand the challenges in current workflow including compliance, order generation, order management and trade execution processes
  • Visualize ideal state exception-based workflow to operate at scale using optimization as the central order generation tool
  • Define requirements for engineering teams to execute on the vision set by SMA business
  • Implement STP of Client directed trading activities to increase operational efficiency

Skills
  • Hands-on experience in designing exception portfolio management process.
  • Deep understanding of order and trade life cycle for retail SMA portfolios
  • Familiarity with most used asset classes in wealth management
  • Ability to think outside box for solving complex multi-dimensional problems
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker who challenges status quo and pursues excellence

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of product management experience, preferably in financial services or wealth tech.
  • Proven track record in defining and implementing solutions that surpassed expectations
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification in product management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin, Charles River & Perform is big plus
For SF4-San Francisco - 400 Howard Street and SAU - 3 Harbor Dr, Suite 204, Sausalito, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$162,500.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
