Position Summary

The Product Manager - RTT (Rhino Tuff Tanks) is responsible for developing product expertise, identifying market opportunities, driving new product development, and leading cross-functional projects that support the growth of the RTT product portfolio.

This position serves as the internal product champion for Rhino Tuff Tanks and works closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and key channel partners to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and bring new products to market.

The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring RTT remains competitive, innovative, and aligned with market needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the RTT product portfolio.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings.
  • Identify market gaps and opportunities for product expansion.
  • Develop product roadmaps and recommend portfolio priorities.
  • Evaluate product lifecycle performance and recommend improvements.

New Product Development

  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for product development projects.
  • Gather and organize customer, distributor, and rep feedback.
  • Work closely with Engineering to define product requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams through development and launch.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and aligned with business objectives.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor competitive products, pricing, and market positioning.
  • Conduct ongoing market research.
  • Evaluate emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Support strategic recommendations regarding product positioning and future development.

Forecasting & Product Planning

  • Support annual and quarterly forecasting activities.
  • Work with sales representatives and distribution partners to understand market demand.
  • Assist with inventory planning and product availability initiatives.
  • Identify trends that impact product demand and future development priorities.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain project timelines.
  • Remove obstacles that delay execution.
  • Ensure alignment between business priorities and product development efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or Operations, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, product development, project management, technical sales, application engineering, or a related industrial business function.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and drive projects to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fluid power, fluid distribution, petroleum equipment, industrial storage, tank systems, process equipment, or related industrial markets.
  • Experience working with manufacturers' representatives, distributors, or industrial sales channels.
  • Experience supporting new product development projects.
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Exposure to forecasting, inventory planning, or product lifecycle management.

Success Measures

Year One

  • Establish and maintain an RTT product roadmap.
  • Implement a structured process for evaluating new product opportunities.
  • Successfully launch identified product development initiatives.
  • Improve visibility into market opportunities and competitive activity.
  • Strengthen forecasting discipline and demand visibility.
  • Improve coordination between Sales, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Build RTT product expertise across the organization.
