How you'll make an impact

The AI Product Owner plays a critical role in shaping and delivering Gallagher Bassett's AI product strategy. This role partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, data scientists, and AI specialists to identify opportunities where AI can improve operational effectiveness, customer experience, service quality, decision-making, and business outcomes.The AI Product Owner serves as the business owner for assigned AI products and initiatives, translating business needs into actionable roadmaps, prioritizing investments, guiding delivery teams, and ensuring solutions achieve measurable value. This role is responsible for aligning AI initiatives with strategic priorities, driving stakeholder engagement, supporting responsible AI practices, and maximizing adoption of AI capabilities across the organization.The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen, product management expertise, and a passion for innovation to help Gallagher Bassett accelerate the responsible and effective use of AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy, Roadmap & Planning

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can improve customer outcomes, operational performance, service delivery, quality, efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Define and maintain roadmaps for assigned AI products and initiatives aligned to business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements, opportunities, and enhancement requests.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, market trends, and innovation opportunities to support product evolution.
  • Develop business cases and value propositions for proposed AI initiatives.

Product Governance & Prioritization

  • Support and participate in AI governance processes to ensure initiatives are prioritized based on business value, strategic alignment, risk, complexity, and organizational readiness.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions regarding priorities, tradeoffs, dependencies, and delivery sequencing.
  • Maintain visibility into AI product backlogs, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
  • Ensure product priorities remain aligned with evolving business needs and organizational objectives.

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and desired outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing prioritization and direction to AI, technology, data science, and delivery teams throughout implementation.
  • Collaborate with project, technology, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of product roadmap initiatives.
  • Participate in solution design, testing, validation, and release planning activities.
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and adaptable to changing business requirements.

Product Outcomes & Value Realization

  • Define success measures and key performance indicators for assigned products and initiatives.
  • Monitor adoption, utilization, operational impact, customer value, and business outcomes.
  • Evaluate delivered solutions against expected benefits and business objectives.
  • Recommend enhancements and roadmap adjustments based on data, user feedback, and business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Generative AI products and business processes.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Partner with business stakeholders to prepare the organization for new AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Support communication, training, and user adoption activities for product launches and enhancements.
  • Promote awareness, education, and best practices related to Gen AI capabilities.
  • Gather user feedback and identify adoption barriers to improve overall product effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Serve as a trusted business partner for assigned Gen AI products and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across business operations, client services, technology, analytics, legal, risk, compliance, and external partners.
  • Communicate product priorities, progress, outcomes, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams to support successful product execution and business value realization.

Responsible AI & Innovation

  • Champion responsible and ethical use of Gen AI, including transparency, privacy, security, compliance, and governance considerations.
  • Stay informed on advancements in AI, machine learning, automation, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging AI capabilities to improve competitiveness, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous innovation.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or Engineering (or commensurate experience) and 7 years related product development experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Technology Delivery, Business Transformation, or related roles.
  • Demonstrable experience with Gen AI, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Copilot technologies, intelligent automation, or AI-powered business solutions.
  • Experience working with AI, analytics, automation, digital products, or technology-enabled business solutions. Demonstrated experience of building and owning AI solutions and roadmaps.
  • Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Desired:

  • Experience conducting research, compiling and analyzing data, and identifying trends that have supported product decisions.
  • Experience in insurance, claims management, risk management, or financial services.
  • Experience measuring business outcomes and benefits realization for technology initiatives.
  • Masters degree preferred.
