Business Development Manager
Salamander Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support and expand our presence in California. This Houston-based role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing strategic accounts, and securing high-value commercial agreements within the Oil and Gas industry. The Business Development Manager will lead regional sales efforts, manage complex negotiations, and identify new business opportunities across key accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong sales expertise, a proven ability to close large-scale deals, and established industry relationships, particularly within thermal EOR, artificial lift, and/or flow assurance.
This position requires domestic travel and onsite presence at our Houston location.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage key accounts within the state of California.
  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Lead complex negotiations, ensuring successful execution and closing of large commercial agreements.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level decision-makers and key stakeholders within regional Oil and Gas companies.
  • Monitor market trends, industry activity, and competitor developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Execute corporate sales strategies in alignment with company objectives and regional market dynamics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including product development, marketing, operations, and customer support, to ensure alignment with client needs and company goals.
  • Travel domestically as required to support customer engagement and industry participation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field required. Engineering background is a plus.
  • 7-10 years of sales experience, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.

Core Competencies:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry or selling into an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated success closing large, complex deals and consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong experience within thermal EOR, artificial lift, and/or flow assurance highly preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with experience managing complex, high-value accounts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute revenue growth strategies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Strong market awareness and ability to identify emerging business opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required.
