Product Development Manager – Power Electronics


$170-190k base salary

Houston, TX (preferred)


I'm currently supporting a global industrial technology company who are looking for an experienced Product Development Manager to lead their Power Electronics R&D team based in Houston, TX.


This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for driving product development strategy, managing engineering teams, and partnering closely with colleagues in Japan to shape the future direction of new power electronics technologies. The position offers international exposure, with travel to Japan and customer/manufacturing sites across the US.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading product development and R&D initiatives for power electronics technologies from concept through commercialization
  • Managing and developing a high-performing engineering team while driving technical strategy and innovation
  • Working closely with global stakeholders, including the Japanese parent company, to align product roadmaps and investment priorities
  • Presenting project updates and technical strategy to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Overseeing R&D budgets, resource planning and project execution across multiple development programs


Key Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience within power electronics, including 5+ years in product development and 5+ years leading engineering teams
  • Proven background in power electronics R&D and new product development
  • Experience managing engineering teams within a global manufacturing or industrial technology environment
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Comfortable with domestic and international travel
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
