Product Operations Consultant

Contract Type: W2 Duration: 8+ Months Location: Seattle, WA, Los Gatos, or Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid Prefer) Pay Range: $70-$75/hr. on W2

Job Summary: Our client is looking for product operations focused on maintaining continuity for core planning and OKR rhythms within the commerce product operations team, specifically supporting the commerce lifecycle & platform (CL&P) product team. The role requires a systems-thinking approach to become a scalable partner, focusing on driving alignment, improving scale and efficiency, and disseminating information to stakeholders. The primary goal is to help CL&P establish and document a stronger product operations foundation, including ways of working and operating rhythms, to hand off a durable operating model for the team to run independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and document team-specific ways-of-working standards designed to be sustainable beyond the engagement.
  • Design and pilot core operating cadences (planning, OKRs, QBRs), creating templates and a playbook for the team.
  • Produce decision-ready readouts for leadership based on input gathered during the engagement.
  • Establish portfolio-level operating processes, including intake and prioritization, roadmap and launch-calendar tracking, and reporting.
  • Support stakeholder communication by informing partners about key dates, changes, and dependencies, and establishing a single source of truth for plans and decisions.
  • Build scalable systems, workflows, and tooling, leveraging AI/automation where appropriate, to reduce manual effort post-engagement.
  • Identify and document operational opportunity areas across the product development lifecycle, providing actionable recommendations for the team.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in product operations, business operations, or a related field, with a background in project-based engagements for establishing new processes.
  • Proven ability to design operational processes, rhythms, and systems in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and to work independently within a defined scope.
  • Fluency with operating cadences such as planning, OKRs, and QBRs, and the ability to synthesize inputs into clear, decision-ready outputs.
  • Demonstrated experience in building leverage-creating tooling and workflows, including practical application of AI and automation.
  • A strong ability to identify operational opportunities within a product development lifecycle and to prioritize recommendations.
  • Excellent cross-functional partnering skills with product, engineering, TPM, design, and non-technical teams.
  • Proficiency with product/ops tooling (e.g., Jira, Airtable) and adaptability in applying frameworks.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including clear executive updates.

Industry Experience:

  • (Preferred) Consumer subscription, commerce/payments, identity, or lifecycle/growth domain experience.
  • Experience operating within a commerce product operations team and supporting product teams focused on commerce lifecycle strategy and foundational capabilities.
